The Story
Black Herald was made in a quiet moment along the Bay, when this cormorant rose onto a weathered branch and opened its wings to dry. In black and white, the bird’s dark feathers become almost sculptural—part messenger, part guardian—while the twisted wood beneath it carries the marks of tide, weather, and time. The image holds that brief, theatrical pause between stillness and flight.
