Imprint

Imprint began with the water rather than the bird. Across its surface, wind and reflected light created a shifting field of black and silver—an abstract landscape changing from one second to the next. The small grebe moved quietly through it, leaving only a dark silhouette and a brief reflection behind. The photograph holds that contrast between movement and stillness: a single living presence carried through a world of passing light, visible for a moment before the water rearranges itself again.
